1944 True Story Of Lili Marlene (full)

The Brits issued this bit of propaganda, but there's more to the story than this.  It's one of those stories, like the Christmas Truce or the No Man's Land Soccer Game during WWI, that transcends sides.

Marlene Dietrich does the most memorable version of Lili Marlene, here in English, but also in German.  She made numerous anti-Nazi propaganda recordings for use of psychological warfare.  Famously, she traveled to entertain the troops and raise money for war bonds.  She left Germany before Hitler came to power and only became a US citizen in 1939, but she hated the Nazis and did her utmost to help defeat them.  Lili Marlene became a soldier's song for both US and German soldiers and recordings can be found in English, German and even French.
